Ms. Mardest VanHooks (center) and her DAA Election Commission volunteers
were direct overseers during the 2011 election held at Douglass High School.
Congratulation ladies for a well run 2011 election!
The DAA Election
Chairwoman Mardest VanHooks has certified
the following vote totals for the 2011 DAA Officers.
They are as follows:
Renwick Smith, the new DAA President received 108 votes
John Bernard received 39 votes.
Charlotte Patterson is the new Vice President having received 142
votes.
June Nichols remains as Recording
Secretary with 122 votes.
Deloris Briggs the new Financial Secretary received 86 votes
defeating Carolyn Smith who received 56 votes.
A.J. Abdullah remains as Treasurer.
Sgt. at Arms is Paul McCulley
received 117 votes
James Kincade the new
Parliamentarian received 64 votes
former Memphis City Councilwoman Barbara Ware received 61 votes
The new Chaplain is Albert Ware
The new Historian is Geraldine Sykes.
Thelma Burchette is the new Business
Manager and received 83 votes over Edith Jordan who received 54
There were 116 members who voted on site and 31 via absentee ballot totaling
147 members who voted.
