2009 Election Guidelines Memphis Chapter, NDAC

    The Guidelines for the 2009 Elections of Memphis Chapter NDAC officers are:

1.      Nominators must verify nominee acceptance before nominations are made from the floor.  

2.      Written verification that a nominee will accept the nomination if nominee is absent at the April alumni meeting.  

3.      The deadline for nominations is 04/18/2009.  

4.      Any member of the 2009 Election Committee who becomes a candidate for office must resign immediately from the Committee.  

5.      All candidates must be paid members of the NDAC Memphis Chapter.  The deadline for candidates to become paid members is 04/18/2009.  

6.      Write-ins will be allowed at the election.  

7.      Absentee ballots will be provided for paid NDAC Memphis Chapter members that live out of town and for paid members that cannot physically attend the election.  

8.      Mail absentee ballots to 2009 Election Chairperson:

9.      The deadline for receipt of absentee voting is 05/02/2009; votes will not be opened and counted until Election Day, Saturday 05/09/2009.  

10.  The 2009 election will be conducted by secret ballot.  

11.  The polls will open at 12:30 p.m. and close at 3:30 p.m., Saturday 05/09/2009 at the  Douglass Community Center.  

12.  All Election Committee members will work the day of election.  

13.  Election Committee members are to arrive at voting site by 12:00 noon and set up.  

14.  Counters and validators for the election will be assigned by the Election Chairperson from the election committee.  

15.  A membership card or photo identification will be required to vote.  

16.  The boundaries set for distributing information, material/flyers for/by candidates on Election Day will be, not beyond the parking lots north and south of the community center and entrance of the lobby.  

17.  Candidates may appoint (1) person of their choice as observer/poll watcher.
This person may not actively participate in the counting of ballots or verification of ballots.  

18.  Assistance will be available for special needs members.  

19.  All members/voters will be asked to vote and to leave the voting site.  

20.  The 2009 Election guidelines will be posted in the meeting and voting areas.
